The natural beauty of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, its uniqueness, the harmony of the shapes and the colors in all the seasons draw the attention of its visitors.

From a geological and hydrogeological point of view, it is an extraordinary phenomenon of limestone evolution. In the valley, surrounded by wooded mountains, the series of 16 magnificent big lakes and a few smaller ones gradually follow each other in teraces. Over the millenniums the waters of the lakes have been dissolving the calcareous rocks and shaped the valley through which they are running. The dissolved limestone has sedimented, thus forming the barriers that separate the lakes.

The National Park covers an area of 30000 hectares, of which 20000 hectares of forests, 217 hectares of lakes and the rest are fields and farms. This unique phenomenon of natural evolution was put under the protection of the UNESCO in 1979, as "Patrimoine Mondial", International Heritage.

HUM - known as the smallest town in the world
Hum is situated in the heart of Istria, in the Buzet county (14 km from Buzet). It can be reached from all sides by car, bus or train. Many people also come on foot, in order to have a better view at the beautiful nature surrounding the city. Hum was one of the most famous centers of the Glagolitic alphabet from the 11th century until these days. This alphabet was in use until the first years of 20th century and at the present time it is still existing in Hum and its closest area and not only on the Glagolitic monuments. The Glagolitic liturgy is still in use in some croatian churches. The Glagolitic literature holds a high position in the culture of this area and also in the Croatian cultural heritage.

MOTOVUN
Motovun is one of the most famous and the most visited Istrian towns. Its beauty comes from its medieval atmosphere with its walls in the form of a ring and two semi-rings and a magnificent view at the fertile vineyards and the beautiful park-forest hiding tasty truffles in its soil.
